TWS Auditions AAA
Thank-you for your interest in our production of ‘The Wedding Singer’!
As mentioned at the familiarisation, below are the resources you will require in order to audition on Monday 17th June at 7:30pm.
AUDITION PIECES: Dialogue, excerpts from the score and audio clips can be found here.
MISSED FAMILIARISATION? Check out the slideshow.
HELP NIGHT: This is on Wednesday 12th June at 7:30pm – if you would like the opportunity to chat to the Director, MD or choreographer about the parts available and audition pieces, please book in with Lee!
AUDITION PROCESS: Familiarisation 10/06/19 > Help Night 12/06/19 > Audition forms in by 14/06/19 > Auditions 17/06/19 > Recalls (if necessary) / Deadline for concerns or feedback to BLODS Committee 19/06/19 > Cast List prepared by Audition Panel 19/06/19 > Cast List Sent to BLODS Committee for official approval 20/06/19 > Cast List published on this page 48 hours after final audition.
CAN’T MAKE AUDITION DAY?: You need to talk to us! Reasonable adjustments may be possible, but please be aware that alternative audition arrangements may place you at a disadvantage, as priority will always be given to those who can make the allocated audition day.
FEEDBACK: If you have any concerns or feedback about your audition, please ensure you log them with us within 48 hours of the audition day in order to ensure the Committee can address any issues promptly.
HAVE I GOT THE PART?: The cast list will be published on the front page of this website within 48 hours of being finalised.
ACCEPTING A ROLE: We expect anyone offered a role to supply us with a head shot, biog, show fee and lib hire fee by the first rehearsal on Sun 30th June. A link will be sent to the email address that you supply in order for you to complete payment (taken by direct debit). A payment plan can be set up if requested. Failure to meet these requirements may result in your role being reallocated. FREE head shots can be provided by the society, if you don’t have one already, so please let us know if you would like one, as we will make time to have them taken at the first rehearsal.
FIRST REHEARSAL: This will take place on Sunday 30th June at BLODS Hall from 2 – 5:30pm. It is essential that cast attend – any issues, please email Director Lee. The rehearsal schedule right up to show week will be issued here. If you have asked for a head shot, it will be taken on this date. You will also have your measurements taken for costume purposes, so please wear something appropriate for this.
LEARNING LINES: We expect everyone in the cast to be off-book by the August Bank Holiday weekend, which is 8 weeks from the start of the rehearsal period.
UNEXPECTED ABSENCE/LATENESS: Rehearsals will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays between 7:30 and 10pm. We will be setting up a TWS Attendance WhatsApp group – if you can’t make a rehearsal (outside of any absence declared on your audition form) or are running late for ANY reason, PLEASE use this to let us know ASAP, as we may need to adjust our running order for the evening in order to make most effective use of everyone’s time. No-shows who haven’t notified us ahead of rehearsal may have their roles re-allocated.
CAR POOLING: In the interests of the environment, parking availability and cast bonding, we encourage you to car pool where possible.
WEBSITE/FACEBOOK: This AAA part of the website will be used to store resources for the rehearsal process (such as recordings, reference material etc). Interactive content, news and feedback will be on the cast Facebook page.
WANT TO LISTEN TO THE ALBUM?: The Wedding Singer album isn’t available on iTunes unless you pay for it, so you may want to have a listen to it on YouTube.
